You can never run out of fun outdoors activities while you are in the city of Boulder. In the center of downtown Boulder, you will find Central Park, which always has one fun thing or another happening.
This park, like most, is ideal for playing a game of Frisbee or tossing around a ball. What it has that others don’t, however, is the convenient location to all the fun that lies in Downtown Boulder. You can sit awhile while people watch in the park, then on any Saturday or Wednesday (just a hop skip and a jump away) you can be at the Boulder Farmer’s Market on 13th Street. Also near the park are the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and the Dunshanbe Tea House. Why not get a hot cup of tea and enjoy a book while sitting on one of the park benches?
There are other niceties of the park besides its ideal location and lush lawns. The Boulder Creek Path runs right through the park, and is a great way for those looking to get some exercise by biking, rollerblading or walking the seven-mile stretch. Boulder Creek also runs its way through the park and is excellent for doing a little fishing or simply to sit by and do a little meditation while taking in the beauty of Colorado.
Boulder’s Central Park also has a Band Shell, which is a city landmark, and where many concerts and events take place. There are also many city-sponsored events such as the Boulder Creek Hometown Fair in the month of September. Things to do at the fair include listening to local bands and taking part in the chili inferno cook-off, races such as the big wheel race and the zucchini race, as well as enjoying a cold microbrew from the beer garden. The Boulder Creek Festival also takes place in Central Park usually on Memorial Day weekend.
Come enjoy beautiful Central Park in the very heart of Downtown Boulder!
