Downtown Boulder, unlike many other major cities, is extremely pedestrian-friendly. There is plenty of parking for everyone, and maps and directions are easy to follow. A big draw to the downtown area is the fantastic shopping at Pearl Street Mall, which is a pedestrian mall made up of over 100 chains, unique stores, restaurants. It will help you literally shop “till you drop!” If you are staying in the downtown area and looking for a hotel that caters to your every comfort, look into booking a room at St. Julien Hotel and Spa, or the famous Hotel Boulderado. Both hotels are in the heart of the city and near every activity you might wish to try.
Boulder was recently named one of the country’s top 25 art destinations, and after a tour of the galleries, theaters, as well as a glimpse of all the street performers, you will know why. Also, be sure to set aside some time to try some of the palette-pleasing restaurants like the Black Cat and the Kitchen.
The city of Boulder is home to many fun annual events, from big events like Boulder’s International Fringe Festival as well as the International Film Festival, to smaller events like the Pearl Street Stampede, and the Boulder Creek Festival.
