Eclectic Shopping in Downtown Boulder

Downtown Boulder is fast becoming known for its fine dining and eclectic shopping options. For those people tired of the chains, they might want to give Boulder a try. Anyone loving good bargains and fantastic finds will be in for a treat!

Pearl Street Mall is home to the most stores in one stretch of land than anywhere else in the city. While you do have typical mall shops here, you will also be pleasantly surprised by the amount of eclectic, mom and pop, and vintage stores. Peppercorn considers themselves “retail potpourri” or, basically, a collection of things for your home. It is considered by most as one of the top not-to-miss shops of the mall. Other fun stores in the area include Alpaca Connection which imports woolen garments, and El Loro, which is a locally owned shop offering everything from clogs to crystals and fossils. Paper Doll sells window displays for holidays and big occasions as well as stationery and cards.

Also on Pearl Street, you will find Classic Facets, which has one of a kind jewelry and period pieces. Both Chelsea and Barbara and Company carry women’s clothing and accessories. Candy’s Vintage Clothing and Costumes is a must-see for anyone who loves poodle skirts, housedresses, and retro home furnishings.

The Arapahoe Village and Waterstreet area has more funky finds. Stop by Video Station, which is a locally owned video store with a staff that can tell you nearly everything about every movie ever made. If you need more home furnishings, check out Indochine; it offers exotic pieces that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

Other stores to checkout in the area include The Amazing Garage Sale store, where you are sure to find little treasures you can’t find anywhere else, as well as Eight and Pearl Antiques, Willow, The Boulder Bookstore, and Dragonfly.

Downtown Boulder is your spot for finding the best items for your home, body and soul, as well as the best souvenirs of the city to take back to your envious friends at home.
