Pearl Street Mall Celebrating 35 Years
Pearl Street Mall, a four block pedestrian mall, has served as the heart of Downtown Boulder for nearly 35 years. This summer will mark the 35th anniversary of the mall's construction in 1976. The complex of shops and restaurants encompasses the 1100 to 1400 blocks of Pearl Street in Downtown Boulder, capped off by the Boulder County Courthouse. Construction began in June of 1976, with the entire location officially open to the public on August 6, 1977. Many of the area's shops and restaurants are likely to join in on the location's official anniversary next year. |
