With so many places to see and shop in through Downtown Boulder, it can sometimes be overwhelming! The following list helps break down the area’s shopping into categories of interest.
1. Antiques
There are three main shops in downtown Boulder antique hunters. Those are Bedell and Co., Classic Facets, and Eight and Pearl Antiques. In Bedell and Co. you will find fine antiques from the Victorian and art deco periods. Classic Facets has a wide range of vintage jewelry, from diamonds to costume.
2. Art
Art and Soul Gallery is a must-see for those shopping for fine art. You will find all sorts of crafts in Art Mart, such s pottery, dream catchers and more. Earthwood Gallery is another stop for fine art, especially for those looking for works by local artists.
3. Clothing
Children’s clothes can be found at Little Mountain Outdoor Gear, Poppy, Real Baby, and Brave New Kids. Alpaca Connection sells clothing made from natural materials. Chelsea sells high style clothing for fashion forward women, as does Dragonfly. Candy’s Vintage Clothing is a must-stop for lovers of retro wear. There is a clothing shop for every style downtown!
4. Book Stores
There are plenty of big chains in the area like Barnes and Noble, but the real treat of downtown is eclectic shops. Beat Book shop, The Bookworm, The Boulder Bookstore, and the Lefthand Book Collective are all quirky must sees. One of the country’s favorite comic shops is located in Boulder: Time Warp Science Fiction and Comics.
5. Doodads
Peppercorn is the spot most talked name about when thinking of downtown doodad shopping. Who can help but love animal shaped Tupperware, or tablecloths in every color, or strange kitchen gadgets? Hangouts is another shop selling trinkets and gifts.
Other things to check out in the downtown area include farmer’s markets, touristy gift shops, jewelers, and the ever-popular Colorado sporting goods stores. Of course, if all else fails, you can spend the day enjoying everything at the Pearl Street Mall.
