Forestry Project at Heil Valley Ranch on April 14 Boulder County Parks and Open Space has worked at Heil Ranch over the last few years thinning forests to decrease wildfire danger while restoring forest ecosystems. Volunteers will spread locally collected native seed to re-vegetate the disturbed areas. Volunteers may also rake duff away from specific ponderosa pines to protect them in a fire or to mitigate damage during a controlled burn. This project runs from 8:00am-12:00pm. Minimum age is 12 with adult supervision. For more information call Shane Milne at 303-678-6089. |
